Pounding the streets to promote The Blue Diviners novel
Small update here. A flyer for The Blue Diviners. I’ve sold some books in the last three months and have learned how to place ads on Amazon to create impressions for the novel. Recently, I made an 11×17 inch flyer to post up around town. But where to hang it up? Here’s the flyer in question. This is version 3 of the flyer. I’m using Photoshop and working with the book cover as a background. I keep trying different copy, different placement of the QR code…
So far, I’ve tried posted it up at a Thundercloud Subs, The Musician’s Woodshed, and The Bee Cave Public Library and an Office Depot(where I printed out). Oh, I also put it up at our local corner store.
Looking for ideas on places that have community boards in Austin so I can post more. My next trip is to Planet K, Austin Books and The Drag at UT Austin.
Watch this trailer for The Blue Diviners
This video trailer for the novel The Blue Diviners hints at some of the story and inspiration without giving away the mystery of this dystopian sci-fi fantasy world. Available on Amazon as an eBook for a whopping $6.99.
For the second trailer, I plan on adding illustrations that will be in the paperback.
Read more about the novel here, and leave a comment if you’re interested in updates. I’ll have a newsletter form soon if anyone is interested.

I’m so excited to announce that I published my novel. I started this process back in 2017 with NaNoWriMo. Though I didn’t make it to the 50,000 words written in a month, I did continue writing. Once finished, I keyed my cursive writing into a Google Doc. After some feedback and editing help, I formatted my manuscript and clicked the publish button yesterday on KDP.
I look forward to connecting with readers and discovering more about what readers of young adult sci fi and fantasy are enjoying.

Challenging photograph to get. Overall I captured the moment. But I had to do some Photoshop editing to diminish a fence pole in the middle of the image that obscured the driver’s helmet. It’s always a trick finding good photo spots around the track when you have a general admission ticket. But I’m happy with the results.
