Movie log – The Social Reckoning

We saw The Social Reckoning last weekend. I was impressed by the power of words as action. The opening altercation turned Facebook post, felt like watching a train wreck powered by dialogue. In some ways the MSI, meaningful social interactions, featured in the story arc, demonstrates the battle between words and imagery. I enjoyed the journalism heavy story balanced against the data science innovation that seems to now be powering our national economy. The Hepburn and Tracy homage between Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison was fun to watch. It hankered back to another time in cinema and kept the mood light during times of darkness. My takeaway, God bless the whistle blowers who alert us all to the forces that would undermine our genuine human interactions.

Fixing broken links on the website. My video disappeared on Vimeo, so here it is on YouTube. I trekked to the top of a hill in New Mexico near Taos. I came across this cool medicine wheel made from Quartz.

Message me if you come across this site. It’s very “Atlas Obscura” to me.

Exciting behind the scenes look at Dead Reckoning’s jaw dropping motorcycle stunt

It looks like just one of many stunts in ’23 Mission Impossible film, but it may be the signature shot for the action packed blockbuster.

Artist Jody Armijo

I wanted to feature the work of Artist Jody Armijo who lives in Ocate, New Mexico.

We told his story in our documentary On The Land. I just delivered one of his pieces, an altar, to a friend here in Austin.

He makes crosses, altars, necklaces, scarfs and many more pieces. Jody’s artwork can be found at Pooh’s Store
